Ringwood Ballet Group's annual production

The annual production occurs in early to mid December at Karralyka Theatre, Mines Road, Ringwood. The production includes a junior ballet, senior ballet, community charity performance and performance of jazz, tap, and contemporary dance.

2026 Production: The Sleeping Beauty

Step into a world of enchantment with The Sleeping Beauty.

Based on the timeless fairy tale, the story follows Princess Aurora, whose christening is interrupted by the wicked fairy Carabosse. Angered after being excluded from the celebrations, Carabosse places a curse on the young princess: on her sixteenth birthday, Aurora will prick her finger and die. Fortunately, the benevolent Lilac Fairy softens the curse so that Aurora will instead fall into a deep sleep, awaiting the kiss of a prince to awaken her.

Filled with charming fairies, magical spells, delightful dances and a triumphant happy ending, The Sleeping Beauty is a dazzling celebration of good overcoming evil. Set to Tchaikovsky's magnificent score, the ballet is renowned for its beautiful music, exquisite costumes, and some of the most iconic choreography in classical ballet.

Annual Community Charity Performance

Each year, Ringwood Ballet Group proudly presents its annual charity ballet performance at the beautiful Karralyka Theatre, showcasing the exceptional talent, artistry, and dedication of our senior ballet dancers.

This free community event is more than just a performance, it is an opportunity to share the joy of ballet with members of our community who may not otherwise have the chance to attend live theatre. Complimentary tickets are offered to local senior citizen groups, aged care communities, and charitable organisations, ensuring that the magic of dance can be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

Guests are welcomed with a complimentary goody bag and the feedback we receive each year is truly heartwarming. Audience members regularly tell us how much they value the experience, describing the performance as inspiring, uplifting, and a memorable highlight of their year.
