Founded in 1961, Ringwood Ballet Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing expert dance tuition and promoting the enjoyment of dance in the community. Run by a voluntary committee of parents, we work closely with our teaching staff to offer a structured, supportive environment for students of all ages. Our primary focus is on classical ballet, with classes for children as young as 3, and an emphasis on building a strong technical foundation before exploring other styles like jazz, tap, and contemporary dance.
We follow the curriculum of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Southern Federation of Dance (SFD), offering graded and vocational training from Pre-Primary through Advanced levels. Students can also take part in exams in ballet, tap, and jazz, with additional classes available in acro, contemporary, and repertoire. Our senior students have access to RAD Higher Grades and Vocational Graded Examinations to ensure a well-rounded education. We keep class sizes small, with around 250 students enrolled, and our teaching staff is highly qualified and experienced.
At Ringwood Ballet Group, we aim to provide students with a fulfilling, long-term dance education that fosters discipline, confidence, and a love for the arts. Dance not only improves posture, coordination, and concentration but also provides a sense of community and lifelong enjoyment. Our curriculum offers students the opportunity to develop their potential in a caring and professional environment, whether they pursue dance as a hobby or a career.
